Enjoy beautiful walks at Simpsons Gap, Standley Chasm (for morning tea), the Ochre Pits, and Ormiston Gorge.
LUNCHTIME / EARLY AFTERNOON
Our next stop is at Glen Helen for a sit-down buffet lunch. On our way back to Alice Springs, we stop to spend time at Ellery Creek Big Hole. This waterhole is one of Central Australia’s most pristine, so don’t forget your swimmers in the warmer months!
LATE AFTERNOON / EVENING
The panoramic landscapes of the West MacDonnell Ranges are extraordinary for their immensity and the spectacular array of sunburnt oranges, maroons and purples on display.
In the winter months, these mighty ranges light up in brilliant oranges and reds at sunset on the return journey to Alice Springs.
You can expect to be back at your accommodation at approximately 5:30 pm.

We rise early from the comfort of our swags for breakfast and sunrise. As first light begins to fill the desert around us we head towards the changing shapes of Kata Tjuta. With the the sun lighting the way, we hike through the deep and mysterious Valley of the Winds. Here we learn about our desert geology and the flora and fauna it contains. Then as a fully qualified “Rockstar” you will be able to tell everyone else about your experiences and the magic that is the Uluru/Kata Tjuta National Park.

Day 1: Uluru L/D included
We’ll pick you up from the Ayers Rock Airport, then head to the Cultural Centre for lunch and an insight into the flora, fauna and local Aboriginal culture of the Red Centre. After lunch you have the chance to walk around this amazing monolith. We then head off to watch the spectacular Uluru sunset while enjoying a glass of bubbly. Then we head to our camp to enjoy a delicious meal. Later, get into your swag for a perfect view of the outback stars.
Day 2: Uluru & Kata Tjuta B/L/D included
An early start to watch an Uluru sunrise, afterwards we explore the many domes of Kata Tjuta as we hike through the Valley of the Winds. We then head back to the base of Uluru for a cultural walk with your guide. After lunch we begin our drive to Kings Creek Station to camp for the night and enjoy a real outback BBQ dinner around the campfire.
Day 3: Kings Canyon B/L/D included
Today we take on the mighty Kings Canyon with a hike around the rim. It’s then back to Kings Creek Station where you have the option of riding on a camel, helicopter or quad bike (at own expense). We then head off to our private bush camp at Curtain Springs Station where you can enjoy sunset views of Mt Connor and your last night under the outback stars.
Day 4: Uluru B included
It’s a relaxed start to the day as we enjoy a cooked breakfast. We then make one last photo stop before dropping you at the airport around 10.00am.

]]>From Alice Springs, we journey across the rugged Outback to Uluru (Ayers Rock). Nothing will prepare you for the sight of Uluru – it’s awesome! We learn about the region’s indigenous history at the Uluru Kata Tjuta Aboriginal Cultural Centre before taking an easy walk around the base of Uluru and learn more about Aboriginal interpretations from your Culturally Accredited Groovy Guide. There’s no better way to finish the day than watching the amazing sunset over Uluru, before snuggling inside your swag under the star-studded desert sky.
Day 2
After an early breakfast, we’ll head to Kata Tjuta (The Olgas) for a sunrise and visit the majestic Valley of the Winds, with its ancient rock formations and extraordinary views. The hikes here can be challenging at times with steep sections and duration of about 3 ¬Ω hours. If your feeling adventurous, fall from the skies with our adrenaline option, skydive over Uluru (extra cost). After lunch, we drive to an authentic station where we set up camp for the night.
Day 3
Today we set out for Watarrka National Park (Kings Canyon), you’ll need to stop to admire and photograph the massive red sandstone walls, vast canyon floor and breath-taking gorges. On the Canyon Rim Walk (3-4 hours) experience the beautiful Garden of Eden and learn more about local Aboriginal culture. This afternoon we drive to one of our campsites at Kulgera, Erldunda or bush camp in swags.
Day 4
We hit the highway to Coober Pedy – the Opal Capital of the World – you will notice the incredible change of scenery from mulga woodlands to vast open plains. We will get the chance to visit the Opal Mine and Museum where we’ll learn the history of the town and sift for our own opals. The highlight for some is visiting Josephine’s Kangaroo Orphanage, where you can meet the rescued kangaroos and baby joeys and admire (or buy) Aboriginal art and didgeridoos. Soon after you’ll get the chance to taste one of the most amazing pizzas in the outback before spending the night in a bunkhouse sleeping the way the locals do – underground!
Day 5
After breakfast, we journey south into the foothills of the magnificent Flinders Ranges. On the way, we stop at Pimba and get a chance to view the salt lakes. We’ll stop en-route for lunch before driving to Wilmington where we’ll sleep among the river red gum trees.
Day 6
We enjoy a morning walk through the towering red sandstone cliffs of Alligator Gorge, which is sometimes bursting with wild flowers and amazing wildlife: you might get the chance to spot kangaroos or wallabies. We enjoy our last lunch together, before heading to Adelaide arriving at approximately 5pm.

The Ayers Rock Resort has a swimming pool, wi-fi, shopping centre, bank and laundry facilities.
We may adapt our hikes in Watarrka (King’s Canyon) if it’s too hot. Some hikes involve steep climbs and requires a reasonable level of fitness.
