An early start means we are the first to the Wineglass Bay lookout, beating the crowds and the heat for that postcard photo. Relax on the secluded beach or choose the more challenging Mt Amos or Hazards Beach walk. We continue further along the scenic east coast via the seaside towns of Swansea and Orford as we make our way to Hobart.

Day 6: PORT ARTHUR HISTORIC SITE
After a quick look at Australia’s best preserved colonial village, Richmond, we head south to explore Tasmania’s ruthless convict past at the World Heritage listed Port Arthur Historic Site (guided walk and harbour cruise included). Rich in visual history, learn of the chilling life as a convict in the restored sandstone prison buildings and preserved ruins.

Day 7: MONA & THE MOUNTAIN
Heading 1272m above sea level, we arrive at the summit of kunanyi/Mt Wellington to enjoy stunning views over Hobart and southern Tasmania. From there, it’s the Organ Pipes track for the adventurous or a more relaxed morning with guided sightseeing of the mountain. There’s time for lunch around Hobart’s waterfront before heading to the unique Mona museum, now Tasmania’s most visited attraction.

Located at the mouth of the Derwent River, Bruny Island is the home to unique wildlife (including the white Bennett’s wallabies), dramatic scenery and delicious local produce. After a short ferry ride across the D’Entrecasteaux Channel, we head to the spectacular seascape of Cape Bruny and the Bruny Island Lighthouse. We can enjoy some coastal walking and breathtaking beaches as we explore this stunning island. We end the day with local produce tastings of cheese and oysters.

]]>We take an early start from Hobart and head to the stunning Tasman Peninsula, home to Australia’s highest sea cliffs. Enjoy the panoramic views of the area from Pirates Bay Lookout, and along the short but spectacular Waterfall Bay Clifftop Track. This is one of Tasmania’s ‚ÄúGreat Short Walks‚Äù, concluding at the remarkable rock formations of Tasman Arch and Devil’s Kitchen.
After our refreshing walk and amazing photographs we arrive at Port Arthur Historic Site. Your entry includes a complimentary Harbour Cruise around the Isle of the Dead and a guided walking tour with Port Arthur’s expert guides. Discover the grim and violent history of the early Australian Penal system and get a sense of the isolation experienced by the convicts in this ‚Äúinescapable prison‚Äù. With around 4 hours here, you have ample time to walk among the main penitentiary; see the solitary confinement cells and many more buildings in this World Heritage open air museum.
On our return to Hobart, we make a short stop at a local Chocolate Factory, where the delightful flavours are on offer to be tasted. We arrive In the late afternoon into historic
Richmond Village. Meander the streets, stop for a coffee and walk across Australia’s oldest bridge still in use – a convict built sand-stone bridge, reported to be haunted!
Last but not least, before we re-enter Hobart we stop for a fabulous view across Hobart from a local lookout. A picturesque way to return to the city.

]]>After departing Launceston we enjoy a short stop in Sheffield – The Town of Murals. Sheffield is a small and quirky village where the history ofthe Cradle Mountain region is depicted in artworks across the buildings throughout the town, this includes the opportunity to see the famous Eason’s Mural.
We continue our journey into the mountains and arrive at Cradle Mountain and Dove Lake with around 5 hours of possible walking time before us. We begin with a series of short walks to Rainforest City and Pencil Pine Falls. From here we can choose from the gentle and iconic Dove Lake Circuit an easy 2 hour walk with amazing mountain views. For the more active, we offer the chance to climb to the loftier heights of Marion’s Lookout. This walk is well rewarded with amazing 360 degree views of the surrounding World Heritage wilderness area.
Enjoy lunch by a quiet stream, watch the famous and friendly Cradle wombats in their natural habitat, or enjoy the many photographic opportunities thatabound. Learn some of the local history as we visit Weindorfer’s Chalet and see the ancient King Billy Pines on Weindorfer’s Forest Walk.
Cradle Mountain is the backdrop for a truly memorable and not to be missed Tasmanian experience.
On our return to Launceston, we stop and sample some local tasty products at the award-winning Ashgrove Cheese Factory.

Our tours are active and visit National Parks and wild areas that involve some walking. We focus on the great short walks of Tasmania. Although mostof the walks are classified as easy, a suitable level of general health & fitness and physical abilities is essential. All tour participantswill be participating in outdoor, active activities and therefore subject to the outdoor weather conditions of the day.
We educate all our guests on Minimal Impact Bushwalking and the Leave No Trace policy’s before entering our National Parks. We provide accurate interpretationand keep wildlife disturbance to a minimum by viewing from appropriate distances and informing our guests how to view wildlife with patience and respect.Activities are always confined to tracks and boardwalks to minimise negative impacts.

]]>Today we go west to the pristine wilderness of Mount Field National Park – entry point to the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area. Walking among the tallest trees on earth, we arrive at beautiful Russell Falls. We’ll see wildlife including Padelemons, a marsupial inique to Tasmania. Our lunch stop is at Australia’s deepest lake, peaceful Lake St Clair. If you’re lucky you might see a platypus! In the afternoon we’ll visit Donaghy’s Hill, a peak where incredible views can be seen in every direction. Majestic Frenchmans Cap can be seen in the distance and the iconic Franklin River winds it’s way through the valley below.

DAY 2 – Montezuma Falls, Strahan & Henty Dunes
An action packed day exploring Tasmania’s enchanting west coast. First up we walk through lush rainforest to Montezuma Falls – Tasmania’s tallest waterfall.The beautiful fishing town of Strahan is our lunch stop today. Relax and take in the charm and history of a town that was once one of the most remote outposts of the British Empire. In the afternoon it’s time to get your jump on! Just north of Strahan are the massive Henty Dunes – we’ll walk you to the top for a wonderful view across the Southern Ocean with the opportunity to get fantastic jump photos!

DAY 3 – Cradle Mountain, Sheffield & Launceston
This morning it’s all about Cradle MOuntain! We stay 4 hours with a range of hikes and activities that allow you to choose your own adventure and enjoy Cradle to the max! At lunch time we arrive at Sheffield – the town of murals. Public art work is everywhere here – and look out for the alpaca man! This afternoon we enjoy some of Tasmania’s finest foods, stopping at the Honey Farm where there as 50 types of honey to taste! We also go to 41 Degrees Salmon to try delicious hot smoked salmon. In the evenining we arrive at Tasmania’s northern capital, Launceston. Cataract Gorge is a stunning natural attraction in the heart of the city.

First up we walk through lush rainforest along the path of an old railway to Montezuma Falls – Tasmania’s highest waterfall.The beautiful fishing town of Strahan is our lunch stop today – immerse yourself in the beauty and history of what was once one of the most remote outposts of the British Empire. Close by are the massive Henty Dunes – climb to the top for a wonderful view across the Southern Ocean and an awesome Jumping experience!

DAY 3 – Cradle Mountain, Sheffield & Launceston
Cradle Mountain day! This stunning Tasmanian icon is a place to take in slowly – we stay 4 hours with a range of hikes and other activities to let you enjoy Cradle to the max! After Cradle it’s time for lunch in the ‚ÄúTown of Murals‚Äù. Look out for the alpaca man! In the afternoon it’s time to enjoy Tassie’s fine foods with a stop at the Honey Farm. We stay gourmet with an opportunity to try delicious hot smoked salmon later.
In the evening we reach Tasmania’s northern capital, the garden city of Launceston. Check out the Cataract Gorge, a gorgeous natural valley in the heart of the city!

DAY 4 – Bay of Fires, Bicheno & East Coast
Today we head east to admire the amazing memorial carvings at Legerwood and taste the cheesy delights of the Pyengana Dairy Company. In the afternoon it’s time for the highlight of the day – the stunning Bay of Fires. With some of the whitest sand and clearest water you’ll ever see, take your time to explore the beach or maybe take a swim. If you like oysters you can purchase some of the best nearby at St Helens. In the evening we arrive at our accommodation in the seaside town of Bicheno. As darkness falls head to the beach to see the little penguins come ashore to nest.

DAY 5 – Wineglass Bay, Freycinet & Kate’s Berry Farm
Today we’ll see another Tassie icon – the gorgeous sparkling waters of Wineglass Bay in Freycinet National Park. Fantastic views are on offer from the lookout and from the beach itself, or if you’re really keen, hike up Mount Amos! Our optional activity this morning is to see the rescued animals at East Coast Natureworld, a popular wildlife sanctuary. We arrive at feeding time for the Tasmanian devils, wombats, kangaroos, koalas and many more animals that call the park home. (Extra cost). This afternoon we travel down the scenic Great Eastern Drive back to Hobart with a stop at Kate’s Berry Farm at Swansea – a great afternoon tea stop with a fantastic view.
